Erykah Badu discovers she is from the Bamileke tribe of Cameroon, Africa


American soul singer Erykah Badu is from Cameroon. Thanks to a profound research team known as the Africa Ancestry, the Grammy winner discovered her mother's lineage originated from the Grassland region of the Western Cameroon known as theBamileke Community.

Erykah who is a native from Oklahoma, USA says she was never so concerned about where she was from but was very contented being who she is. after finding out she is a Bamilekenative, the singer said:
"It changes a lot of thinks and my idea of my history. Now, i will want to go to Cameroon and see my place, the dance and the grass... I believe there's an important thing I'm to do there..."
Head of the Cameroonian Community in Austin, Texas, Simon Bijingsi and his members paid the singer a visit and presented her with the traditional clothe called the Toghu and taught her a few things about the Bamileke tribe including treating her to the cultural dance and the language
